A series of 5 lectures by William Spear
A long-time popular teacher based in Connecticut, William Spear is one of the first "senior teachers" of the Macrobiotic movement and has taught macrobiotic principles of health, freedom, and creative thinking for over 40 years. Author of the best selling book FENG SHUI MADE EASY, he is one of the few modern macrobiotic teachers who followed Georges Ohsawa's encouragement to explore life comprehensively, setting aside exclusivity and dogmatism.
Most recently, Spear gained international respect for his deeply compassionate work in responding to the victims of the tsunami disasters in Sri Lanka, Samoa and Japan. As founder of The Fortunate Blessings Foundation, he assembled a team of mental health care experts to work with children traumatized by natural disasters. With His Holiness the Dalai Lama, yoga teacher Sean Crone and Jon Kabat-Zinn, Spear was recently honored as one of 7 dynamic spiritual teachers in the book, BE THE CHANGE: HOW MEDITATION CAN TRANSFORM YOU & THE WORLD.
This is a rare opportunity to study with one of the most knowledgeable, inspiring counselors on the subject of health and wellness. His talks are always informative, thought provoking and humorous, benefiting from decades of his own in depth study and work alongside the late death and dying pioneer, Elizabeth Kubler-Ross, Buddhist teacher Sogyal Rinpoche and many other spiritual masters.
The series began Monday, February 6 at 7:30 pm with HEALING OURSELVES followed by 4 other evening lectures:
