GENERAL information

WHAT TO BRING: September around Portland offers Fall weather with temperatures ranging from 75 F (24 C) by day and to about 52 F (11 C) at night. Since it rains frequently in the area a raincoat and umbrella are handy. Bring all the toiletries and medications you might require as there are no shops, restaurants, etc. in walking distance. Leave home your finery and makeup: dress is comfortable and casual. A flashlight is useful after dark. Note that doors at the Center do not lock. Bathrooms are shared.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Activities, meals and rest periods are built into the program, so there is no need to leave the retreat center. Any and all trips off-site for sightseeing, shopping, entertainment, etc. are best planned for either before or after The Passage; you might keep this in mind when considering a rental car since it will sit idle during the workshop. When planning your departure date, please note that launching into a hectic travel schedule immediately after completing The Passage can be counterproductive. Past participants stress the importance of the days immediately following The Passage for integrating and assimilating the experience rather than hurrying back to one s personal and professional life. It is recommended, therefore, that you spend a few days in a minimum-stress environment.
